Collection during winter vacation
• red
About the red color, I collected the red clothes worn by the old lady who celebrated the opening of the shop, red envelopes for the Spring Festival, red balloons hung on the wall for her birthday, red envelopes, red clothes, Santa Claus, red Santa hat, red cars, red CARDS and so on.
I find that these colored objects are used in festive occasions, which indicates that red is the color suitable for celebration. So why do people choose red as the color of celebration when there are so many colors?
People will actually have relevant associations when they see colors. For example, black and gray will give people a very depressing feeling, or blue will make people feel very quiet, and colors will mobilize people’s emotions. People will feel the air is active and their mood will change with the change of the environment when they see the color red, which is so enthusiastic and has a high visual impact. This is also the reason why the red objects I collect are mostly used for celebration.
• metal
The metal objects that I collected were recorded by photos, including nails, hammers, coat hangers, iron railings, steel wire balls and so on.
These collected items are mainly used for protection and fixation.
Always give a person a kind of very solid metal and smooth feeling so metal objects are collected for more protection, metal bring security to the person, so the metal object is used to protect and defense, like metal knives and soldiers equipment metal armor are very classic representative, which is why the items metal objects are used for security. Cold tonal metal gives a person a kind of composed and sedate sense, if what collect is rusty thing so can give a person a kind of old feeling, this shows the metal of different state also can give a person different atmosphere

• Small
I ‘ve collected a lot of small things to take pictures of, like the root on the orange peel, the hard corn in the popcorn, the sawdust, the ants, and so on. They all have very small things in common. Though small in size, the little things I collected were many small things that could be combined into one whole thing. For example, the hair on a brush may be small but countless hairs of this size can make up a brush or every rebar in a huge building is a very important part. Small objects may be insignificant individually but no matter how small an object is, it can do its part. And there is never a qualitative standard for small, and the so-called “small” items I find can only be compared to my human volume. I may be a small object relative to the whole planet, but even a small one will have its meaning, won’t it?

Level 3 is a place where I learn a lot of things, like using a studio, making sketches, doing systematic research, using different materials to enrich my work, doing street interviews, and going to different places to learn about local culture. There are also different art exhibitions to improve their own aesthetics and so on. After entering college, both my ideas and my strength have improved a lot. The biggest developments I have made are probably my ability to perceive and plan things and writing skill.

When I first started the project, the teacher took us to the park and asked us to look around to collect the letters we wanted. Because I have never collected random material outside before, I am very confused about this. But the teacher saw me confused and encouraged me to feel everything around me. Everything can be made into material. The real material is not how great or special it is. So I began to learn to find what I wanted in different environments and to look carefully at every corner of what I wanted to investigate. A lot of times, even a small piece of paper or a different color of stone can appear in my sketchbook, which is something I never thought I would do before, and people like me who don’t collect material randomly. Doing these things is something I ‘ve never tried before.
Another improvement is to keep doing it continuously. This is a very important thing that I learned in planning my work.

In an ideal world there is always one more book you could read, or one more person you could interview .(Report Writing 2012) In postcode, I didn’t know what to do at first, because my future major is animation or film, but I didn’t know how to turn this postcode project into an animation or movie, so I asked the teacher. The teacher told me that I shouldn’t spend too much time in the early days thinking about what to do with the final product. The most important thing is to keep doing research. Only if you collect enough things will you always find what you want. So I spent a lot of time in the early stages doing enough research, and the which let me had enough options to go through the final product output, and I didn’t have to collect enough material for my last work to support it. This is a very important link for me.

I also learned a lot of writing skills like how to organize my reports. To be honest, I’m not a good organizer, so I’m often worried about being able to organize an article. So in the level 3 study, I learned how to find relevant books and materials in the library to correct this problem. With the help of the book, my writing has been improved.

In general, three levels really let me learn a lot of things, some of my previous did not do well because of three levels and continue to develop, I hope that in the future can learn more things through level3!

Last week we go to the Tate Modern in CTS class which leave me a deep impression because of all kinds of exhibition

The exhibits in this exhibition use various themes and creative methods, such as lacquer paintings that I have never been exposed to before. What impressed me most was the lobster phone, which replaced the receiver with a reddened prawn lying on its stomach. I was deeply attracted by its unique shape. The author used the universality of the form to change the microphone into the shape of a lobster. Although I did not know much about this kind of art, I still thought it was a good work among the exhibits.

In addition to the exhibits in Tate Modern, I observed more tourists in it. Originally, it was not only college students who would organize activities to visit museums together in class. I also saw many other middle school students in the square where they gathered. Their school uniforms are so beautiful and everyone is in good order. I also saw them in the exhibition hall. Like us, they would get a form to do research. Some people would even use the folding chairs Shared by the museum to draw pictures. One of the most interesting is that I saw a lot of children near the exhibition area of a group of statues. They looked like kindergarten students were kneading the shape of the statue with soft clay. Many teachers would instruct them to knead the statue.There are usually many students in the exhibition, and I think the reason for this image is that visiting the exhibition can improve the aesthetic taste, especially in the group of students who are in the learning stage. This age group is one of the important periods to create values, and many students who have not yet stepped into the society are easily affected by what they see. In the process of viewing the exhibition, they understand the definition of beauty through various classic works of art, instead of being biased by meaningless things like Tik Tok. Therefore, a large part of the tourists I see in the exhibition are students’ reasons

In the early 1930s, Dall promoted the ldea of the surrealist object of which this is a classic example. The surrealists valued the mysterious and provocative elfect or such unexpected conjunctiors. Dall, in particular belleved that his objects could reveal the secret desires of the unconscious.Lobsters and telephones had strong sexua cornolations for him, and he drew a close analogy between lood and sex. He made Lobster Telephone for Edward Jarmes, the British collector who was the most actve patron of surrealist artists in the 1930s（Introduction of the exhibition）

When I was a child I was always told that the more luxurious the house, the better it will be.  SO before I see the project about  Le corbusier and exhibition,I always regard luxury as the criterion to judge whether a house looks good,to me at the time, simple houses were just tools for people to live in. Only houses as luxurious as a palace or a castle could qualify as a work of art. But the idea changed after I saw their work.

Paris Montparness is a good example about this ,for shape ,it just use the simplest cube and linear array ,but it can have a kind of distinctive aesthetic feeling however, as if each cube, each room arrangement is proper.

Except to Paris Montaparness ,Building which is disgn by Le corbusier  also have this kind of characteristic ,take my most impressive Villa Schwob that is construct in 1916 .the house just uses the combination of cylinder of different size and cuboid, interior adornment also is given priority to with contracted, far from say luxurious.  But everything is simple, everything fits into the world order. The radically new beauty of villa becomes  accessible It seems like something you might have thought up yourself,The mind understands ,it wants to participate and the educated eyetakes a fresh look at the trivialities of the modern world (resource from Le corbusier alive page 20)With the arrival of the new era, the world was remade, and Paris in the 20th century began to try new styles. Fortunately, his unique architectural style stood out in the era of striving for innovation

By 1923 Le Corbusier had succeeded in synthes izing the strands of his formative years into a personal vocabulary which he believedtobe rooted in the conditions of industrial society. His whitewashed cubic villas and studios of the early to mid-1920s with their metal windowframes, chunky hardware and bold geometries possessed the freshness and slight crudeness of strong innovations. They tooktheirplace alongside other exploratory works of the modern move ment, such as Gerrit Rietveld’s Schroeder House of 1922-4, Mies van der Rohe’s Brick Villa pro posal of 1923, Walter Gropius’s Weimar Bauhaus Office interior of the same year, or Rudolph Schindler’s Lovell Beach House of 1922-4. In retrospect one sees these as first steps towards what historians later called -oversimply -the international style(resource from Le corbusier ideas and forms )

Both Villa and Paris Montarpress are applied to the design of geometric aesthetics, and the visual aesthetics brought by the buildings with ingenious combination of different geometries is no less than the houses with delicate decoration, and even have a different aesthetic feeling. I think that’s why the idea that I’ve seen these buildings for years is broken.

Geometric design (GD) is a branch of computational geometry. It deals with the construction and representation of free-form curves, surfaces, or volumes^[1] and is closely related to geometric modeling. Core problems are curve and surface modelling and representation. GD studies especially the construction and manipulation of curves and surfaces given by a set of points using polynomial, rational, piecewise polynomial, or piecewise rational methods. The most important instruments here are parametric curves and parametric surfaces, such as Bézier curves, spline curves and surfaces. It is last Thursday that we were asked to visit the gallery and buildings in wellcome collection ,which really surprised me because of its art work and photos .

To be honest it is the frist time I visit the exhibition about building and ancient medical device. Fortunately it was  much more comprehensive and amazing than I thought ,not only does it had detailed graphic introduction for each exhibits but also had related models and audio of interviews to let us have a better understanding of the meaning behind each building or medical device. Thanks to these exhibits I started to know people’s life in the past .

What impressed me most was Paris Montparness that design by Jean Dubuission  in the middle of the room .When I was walking at the exhibition area ,thinking about which one of so many excellent works to chose as the main research object I was  attended by the huge picture that toke up a whole wall. It is the largest single residential block , the type of building remained me the flat I lived when I was a child , at that time every one crowded in a room like tofu, in that honeycomb-like building, where everyone is just a tiny bee inside, the sun rises and the sun goes down.The huge yellowing picture on display on the wall gives a deep sense of age, as if it were a few decades ago.

As for the design of Paris Montparness ,”the linear com position of Cursky’s monumental photograph draws attention to the building’s geometric design.”(From the text introduction of the work)Both its appearance and the room’s design are very simple, and the building is more practical than ornate decoration.The simple combination of square geometry makes this huge building seem more organized, I think this is the meaning of “Less is more”Sometimes the simple design can better reflect the profound connotation of artworks. It is simple and clear without too many tedious decorations, but it can shock people at the first sight. The geometric design of building reminds me the building designed by Le corbusier especaily for the Chandigrah .

Besides, there are many surprises in this exhibition. For example, the giant model of the old hospital makes people more intuitively understand the structure of the hospital and the arrangement of the room, and the vivid figures in it perfectly reproduce the scene of the hospital at that time. The first floor also exhibits the progress of medical equipment during the operation in ancient Europe. Whether it is the change of surgical knife and needle or the evolution of prostheses in different times, people are deeply impressed by the progress of ancient medical technology. The wall of the medical exhibition hall is covered with paintings of women giving birth at that time. I don’t know why I want to draw the picture of the most sacred and joyful moment of a woman’s life.

In short, this exhibition is of great improtant to me , not only can it let me get better understanding of people’s life in the past ,but also I have seen the progress of medical technology since ancient times.

To be honest, the first week I came to London I was worried about whether I could get used to it. I am afraid that my poor oral and academic knowledge will bring me a lot of trouble. But unexpectedly, it was much better than I expected. The teacher was very kind and the students were very friendly. The most impressive thing to me was the class of self-introduction in the first week. Although I had already finished the homework of self-introduction, I began to hesitate to speak on stage after seeing the fluent self-introduction of classmates around me. Luckily, the ending wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be, and everyone was listening to me carefully and nodding in agreement, a courtesy I had rarely experienced before. After class, Tanya approached me and excitedly said, “You really do a good job!” I almost jumped for joy when I heard it!
To sum up, I had a really good time during my first week here, and I really appreciate all of you for being so nice
